Giving Small Business Owners the Support They Deserve

After 40+ years of supporting professionals and small business owners with 1-10 employees, we've found that they do best with a special mix of IT support.

I've often called it "Goldilocks IT" because it's not too much and not to little... it's a just-right mix of robust, layered security protecting a casual network without the need for a server or domain that allows for the flexibility required when virtually everybody is wearing several hats.

We need skilled Tech Associates who understand this less-is-more approach and want to either add clients to their exsiting MSP business or, create their own independent business as an MSP with access to our prebuilt services and infrastructure

Licensed GMS techs offer our time-proven services to their clients on a lucrative revenue sharing basis and provide ad-hoc custom services to the clients at their current rate. That income is not shared with GMS.

Qualifications for Success

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong foundational knowledge about computers and Windows PCs, particularly peer-to-peer networking;

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively;

  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to non-technical clients.

  • An Open Mind About IT for Very Small Businesses: Professionals and employees in extremely small companies operate differently than big companies and although extreme security and tight-fisted control over users makes IT support easier, it interferes with the flexibility and spontaneous work patterns of extremely small workplaces so, in our 40+ years of experience, we've found that too much security and control kills productivity.

Have Questions? We’ve Got Answers!

Below, you'll find answers to some of the most common queries our prospective tech associates ask.
If you need more information, we're here to help!

What technology and equipment do I need to work as a GMS Tech Associate?

As a GMS Associate, you need to have a Windows PC, a reliable phone, and consistent access to the internet. Having a webcam is essential for participating in virtual meetings and providing remote support when needed.

Are there any specific certifications required to become a Tech Associate?

While Windows certification is a plus, it is not mandatory. However, we highly value any certifications related to PC support as they demonstrate a solid foundation and expertise in the field. If you have certifications, please mention them in your application as they can enhance your candidacy.

Do I need a car or other reliable transportation to be a GMS Tech?

Yes, reliable transportation is important as the role may require onsite visits to client locations to address complex issues or set up systems. Having your own transportation ensures that you can meet these needs promptly and efficiently.

How do I make money as a GMS Tech Associate?

GMS techs earn residuals for every service they manage. Rates and amounts vary but, our flagship service makes up the vast majority of what we provide and your residual is 35%.

Also, if you enroll a new VCT client, you earn $175

That's a combination of the $150 commission and $25 for the short onboarding call that's you'll make for all of your VCT clients when they are enrolled by a GMS sales rep.

Residuals, commissions and fees add up over time but, the real money comes from doing ad-hoc support services for an ever growing list of clients. You charge whatever rate you negotiate with the client for non-subscription support services and you do not have to share that with GMS.

VCT gives you the opportunity to provide proactive support by alerting you to small issues before they become major problems. For example, VCT might alert you that a client's hard drive is nearing capacity.

That creates an opportunity for you to contact the client, tell them what's going wrong and how they can solve the problem that's developing.

However, non-technical clients will almost always have you do the job, even if it's drop dead simple. They are almost always happy to pay you to do it and those simple events create an amazing level of loyalty.

The combined benefits of commissions, fees, residuals and ad-hoc revenue ensures you are both financially rewarded and professionally recognized.
